Typhoon Madness

Oops. I forgot that in the U.S., they are known as "hurricanes." I actually once got into an argument with someone who claimed that typhoons and hurricanes and willy-willys are actually different things. I believe they are all hurricanes--just different terms/slang used in different parts of the world.

Anyhow. Hurricane Isabel is driving the people of DC/MD/VA into their homes! Government is closed! Metro is closed! School is closed! Stock up on bread and water! (why bread and water? I would advocate wine and cheese or some such thing.)

So I get some respite from school/work tomorrow. Which is good because school is actually kicking my arse! I didn't expect it to--I mean, I'm a master senior (ok, whatever you call a grad student in their final year). I shouldn't be worried about keeping up with my readings and all that jazz.
